Website Hosting

After five years of doing full-time web development, we finally thought we earned the right to also start hosting our own websites. We spent the first few years battling through different web hosts. Some were good and some were bad, but now we understand the needs of both website owners and web developers, and can combine that to supply you with trustworthy hosting. Databases

Just as websites are the front-end of all our software, Databases are the back-bone for all our complex systems. When ever you have to save/manage/retrieve massive amounts of data through software, databases are the back-end software that stores all the data. We build MYSQL relational databases for all systems that require it. Using MYSQL enables us to:

• Keep costs lower for our clients, as MYSQL is a free RDBMS (Relational Database Management System).
• Use one of the most powerfull RDBMSs in the world, also used by Google, Youtube and Facebook.
• Easily find support and resources, helping us keep up with fresh trends and new features, due to the massive usage worldwide.

Monitoring

This service is only for clients who already have a website and/or system. If you have a website which has to be online and functioning at all time, like an online shop, then we can build custom monitoring software to check your website functionality from time to time. Say once every hour or so. We will have the monitoring software set up to alert you as soon as some part of your system is offline or not functionaing correctly.

Maintenance

All web systems need to be updated every now and again, adding new features, changing graphics etc. We do maintenance on websites at a hourly rate. Our current hourly rate is R350.00 per hour.

Hosting

We do not have our own servers for hosting websites. We choose to focus on development only, and use trusted hosts to host our or our clients websites. We have quite a few clients who choose not to go through the trouble of managing their own hosting, and we manage the hosting for them. We use cost effective, professional hosting services.

Systems Design

For most of our clients we offered a solution from the concept phase to the final product. Our expertise enable us to not only build a system, but also conceptualize and draw up the core architecture. When developing complex systems, we go through many phases to ensure that the final product is what everyone expected. We write a specification document (spec doc) with our clients, going through many revisions to ensure detail is covered. After this wireframes are drawn up to create a "mock-up" of what the website will look like. Finally we create the database for data storage and management and the code follows.

Internationalization

As the web shrinks the world, more and more companies need to operate across national and language boundries. We can develop websites to cater for more than one language group or country, building logic into our systems to automatically check from which country a user is, and giving the data related to him/her. An example of this will be like an online shop giving prices in different currencies or product descriptions in different languages.

Content Management

Contentent Management Systems (CMS) is the future. With heaps of free tools to build your own CMS (Wordpress,Joomla etc) less people have need of web developers to build them a website. Sometimes the free software is to restraining for peoples' needs however and then we can build them a system on which they can update their own data. Another reason for coming to us is the fact that we can build "intelligent" CMS, changing and manipulating data depending on user input. And finally, we have developed our own internal MVC framework on which we develop our solutions. Most open-source systems online are continually compromised by hackers, exploiting the knowledge of the back-end freely available. We build custom solutions using our own systems, making hacking a lot more difficult.

Business Management

We are not merely developers dashing out solutions for businesses, as we are a business and company ourselves, we use our own solutions internally. Doing this opens up our eyes for gaps in usability and functionality. We force ourselves to use our own systems, so that if something is not optimized, we will sit with the frustration until we optimize it. Benifiting our clients through our own learning curve.

Information Architecture

As mentioned under CMS. We developed our own MVC framework internally, on which we build our software. These days there are quite a lot of frameworks such as ours available, like CakePHP and the Zend Framework. Building our own framework benefits us by knowing how the internal systems work. It also gives us the upper hand against hackers, holding our back-end unavailable for the public.

SEO is a technique used by developers to make it easier for search engines (like Google, Yahoo and Bing) to find your website and thus, easier for users. Analytics

We probably could end up doing this all by ourselves, but luckily Google supplies us with sufficient tools to continually analize website traffic. We can implement this on all systems we develop, giving the user data on who uses their website, when, and where on the site are they moving.

E-Commerce

We have develop numerous systems that have online payment gateways. We can help you build an online shop, complete with payment solutions.

Security

No system in the world is un-breakable. No bank is un-robbable. No website is un-hackable. Having the best security mesures in place can however lower your chances of being compromised incredibly. We do provide clients with security solutions, finding possible exploits, blocking holes in systems, and if you want us to, we can try to hack your system to see how easy it is to get in.

Mobile Applications
